in defense of my reading habits, I got so caught up in the romance and fairytale of my new bookshelf that my husband paid for and my lovely architects designed that I got all up in my feels and finished say you’ll remember me by abby jimenez in about a day and a half. that’s pausing while I drove around and went to therapy and unpacked my books on my new dream bookshelf.

last week we finished the poppy war and I was like, well why don’t we take a break and read throughout the week the new release by abby jimenez? jokes on me because as I said, I finished this in a day. sitting in my cozy cloud sofa with freddy my dachshund and none of my intrusive thoughts, the ambience just begged me to finish the book. and oh I did!!
i'm proud to say i’m the most basic bitch on planet earth and i listen to what booktok recommends, of course by vetting some of these recs via goodreads reviews. i read even the lowest rating because maybe someone mentioned a little something that could trigger in me a case of bad mood but never abby jimenez, and so this is my review after reading several mixed reviews:
first of all.
five stars!!!!!
second of all. this was my favorite quote of all time because it was very relatable as a girly who loves asking random shit.
when samantha asks xavier if he'd still love her if she was a worm.
his answer:
"Well, if you were a worm, things would change."
"How?"
"You would want to do worm things. You would have worm needs."
"So no?"
"So I would take care of you," he said. "I'd learn everything there is to know about worms. I'd become a worm expert. I'd put you in a flowerpot. I'd make sure your soil was warm and you were safe. I'd set you on a windowsill—but not too high, so you wouldn't be scared." He started kissing me again. Gentle little pecks around my face.
"I wouldn't know if you still understood me, but I'd talk to you anyway." Kiss. "I'd play music I know you like and I'd plant flowers for you." Kiss. "I'd decorate your pot with seashells. I'd never leave you alone. I'd take you with me everywhere."
ok so we love a man who does everything for his girl.
oh and did I mention he is a hot veterinarian who saves cute dogs from euthanasia? byeeeeeeee say less.
now now. for this week, we (me) have in the reading schedule:
the conditions of will by jessa hastings — could go either way, we’ll see
two arcs that i’m dying to devour (thanks valentine pr!!!!):
sawyer by jessica pearson
mr. charming by piper rayne
(both romcoms. we love)
in other bookish news, I ordered sunrise on the reaping to my U.S. apartment and I won’t be going until the 21st, so I’m feeling very left behind and cannot wait to read. like. please no one spoil a single page.
okay. that’s all. abby jimenez supremacy forever.
happy reading!!!
